Join us for a three-part series: Praying the Psalm as Catholics on Wednesday, March 22nd, 29th, and April 5th in the Fr. Ouellette Room at St. Joe’s from 7:00pm-8:30pm. You’ll learn how to read and understand the Psalms, and different ways to pray them. It’s often hard to put the Psalms in context when we pray them at Mass. This series will open your heart to receive them as inspired prayers and pray them with Jesus.
All are invited to the Chrism Mass at St. Peter Cathedral on Thursday, March 30th at 3:30pm. Bishop John blesses the holy oils at this Mass for use throughout the year, and priests of the Diocese renew the promises of our ordination.
Stations of the Cross will be prayed during Lent every Friday at 5:30pm at St. Joseph parish, beginning this Friday the 24th. Deacon Steve Schaffer and Lisa Niemi will organize and lead the prayers, which take about 35 minutes and help us meditate on 14 moments in Jesus’ Passion. Come spend this time with Jesus on Fridays!
Students in 7-8 grade and 9-12 grade are invited every Sunday for Life Night at St. Joseph parish. We have Mass at 6:00pm, followed by Life Night from 7:00-8:30pm.
A Lenten tradition at St. John’s has been a soup meal once a week. Soup for the Soul with homemade soup and bread will be in St. John’s hall at 5:30pm every Monday from February 27th to April 3rd. All are welcome. There will be Mass in the Church at 5:00pm, and a brief spiritual reflection at 6:10pm after the meal. Megan Niepoth will make soup the first week, and we’ll have a sign-up sheet for others to make soup the following weeks.
Students in K-6 grade have Faith Formation classes every Monday from 6:00-7:00pm at St. John’s school. We have Mass at 5:00pm, followed by potluck at 5:30pm for all faith formation families to enjoy. Parents and younger kids are welcome to stay and visit while K-6 students are in classes. We’ll also have faith formation activities for Pre-K students led by some moms beginning September 26th.

Couple's Night is Friday, April 14th at St. Joseph parish hall. We provide a drink, dinner, and childcare, and a presentation on praying together as a couple. Come enjoy a date night out!

Our Grief Support Group meets every 4th Wednesday at 7:00pm at St. Joseph parish activity room. The group is facilitated by Sr. Margey Schmelzle assisted by numerous others who have experienced loss and bereavement. Contact Sr. Margey at 906-376-8475 for more information.
