Averleigh Singer baptized at St. Joseph Parish

May 4, 2020Averleigh Marie Singer, born July 15th, 2019 in Ishpeming, was baptized by Fr. Ryan on Saturday, May 2nd at St. Joseph Parish.
Averleigh is the first-born daughter of Matthew and Brittany Singer, who recently moved to Ishpeming from Marquette. They began attending St. Joseph Parish shortly before the stay-at-home order was enacted. The original plan was to baptize Averleigh during Mass on April 18th, but that had to be postponed due to public Masses being suspended.
After thinking out numerous options, Matthew and Brittany decided it would be best to have the baptism on a Saturday when Matthew's brother and sister could drive up from Appleton and Green Bay for the day to stand as the godparents. Also in attendance were Matthew's parents who are members of St. Michael Parish in Marquette.
Brittany's family lives in Illinois and would have been present were it not for the stay-at-home order. So, the baptism was livestreamed on the Ishpeming Catholic website so they could tune in to watch and pray along.
Congratulations to the new parents and to Averleigh Marie! Let's continue to keep them in our daily prayers.
